New London, NH This new house has well planned outdoor spaces to enhance the owners’ enjoyment of the gorgeous, wooded, lakeside lot. Careful consideration was used to preserve many of the mature trees that exist on site and to design a landscape that takes advantage of the outstanding views and beautiful existing stone outcroppings. db Landscaping LLC was involved in preparing a comprehensive site plan and a storm-water management system. Crushed rock infiltration beds, foundation drains, sump pumps and a series of rain gardens were constructed to mitigate rainwater from the rooftop and driveway. Disturbed areas were re-vegetated with native plants. The landscape features Goshen stone patios, incorporating the existing ledge and taking advantage of its location to provide meandering access to the waterfront.
Sunapee, NH db Landscaping LLC designed an elaborate master plan for this enchanting lakeside retreat. The project scope included a reconfigured driveway that dramatically enhanced the privacy, function and arrival experience for this stunning lakeside property. In addition, natural stone walkways with a series of granite steps and landings provided access between the main house, boathouse, dock and lakefront patio space. The end result was a home that appeared to have been tucked into the hillside for ages with unique gathering spaces surrounded by lush, native plant material.

Grantham, NH This property presented some unique drainage challenges that db landscaping LLC was able to turn into an asset by directing storm-water through a beautiful water feature at the entryway. The natural stonework and terracing around the back created a series of beautiful gathering spaces throughout the property.
Warner, NH When db Landscaping LLC visited this property for the first time, we immediately recommended a functional site solution that included moving the driveway. The driveway was originally sandwiched between the house and the barn, yet we thought it would be more beneficial to realign the driveway behind the buildings. This created a connected courtyard between the buildings, and a more welcoming yet informal entryway that complimented the architecture of the house. db Landscaping LLC proposed an entryway paved in granite cobblestone, inlaid with ledge-stone. Large, flat-topped boulders were also integrated into the patio for seating. Grading at this site was extensive; a deck that originally required steps to access was now almost at grade level. The large deck was designed with planters that allow birch trees to grow up through the deck openings. Machine-laid retaining walls helped to level the grade and created more useable landscape space where there was previously a steep slope. Plants in the front of the house and under the eaves were specifically selected for their ability to handle heavy snow loads. Lush, perennial plantings added additional color and texture to the landscape.
Hillsborough, NH Access to the lake from this charming home required navigating a steep slope. db landscaping LLC was able to negotiate this terrain and provide comfortable lake access using oversized natural stone steps and landings that meander through native plant material. The upper patio space provides natural outdoor gathering space directly off the main living area and allows for a perched view of the lake beyond.
Newbury, NH db landscaping LLC was involved in designing a master plan for this Lake Sunapee property. Selective thinning of existing vegetation allowed for framed views of the lake and Mount Sunapee beyond without sacrificing privacy for the homeowners or the environmental integrity of this steep lakeside site. A new driveway alignment improved the arrival experience and improved function. A large gas fire pit was set within a natural stone patio with easy access to interior gathering spaces and fantastic perched views of the lake and mountain. Native plantings set amongst oversized stone boulders were used throughout the landscape to further enhance the natural beauty of the property.
Newbury, NH After sitting on the market for three years, this property was purchased by a visionary client who understood that the right landscape designer could turn the unusable landscape into highly comfortable outdoor spaces. db Landscaping LLC designed a series of tiered outdoor living spaces, gardens, and access to the lake that responded to the steep lakeshore terrain of the property. Larger areas for entertaining were complimented by smaller, more intimate spaces for relaxing. The new landscape incorporated lake views and water access while utilizing environmentally responsible materials such as aged local stone and drought tolerant native plants. Storm-water runoff was also engineered to mitigate erosion and allow water to return to the ground rather than entering the lake directly. The resulting outdoor rooms and gardens were balanced, relaxing, and in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
